Club Pen Pics
Andrew Hardaker: Top
quality keeper. Great hands, very agile and provides a srtong presence on and
off the field. A consistant performer for the Welfare for many years.
Gareth Williams: Another good keeper
who has improved a great deal in his four seasons with Askern. A reliable performer
who is surprisingly agile for a big lad.
David Horton: A solid defender who loves
a good tackle. Works tirelessly throughout a game and is always committed to
the cause. A good motivator both on and off the field.
David Longley: A good promising young
defender who has taken the step up to 1st team football very comfortably. Reads
the game very well and should get even better in the coming years.
Paul Metcalf: A veteran centre half who
brings experiance and a cool head to the back four. Still consistantly performing
well despite his advancing years.
Ian Burkett: A newcomer to 1st team football,
but should cope with ease. A no nonsense defender with bags of pace anf the
strength of a ox.
Steven Vincent: Possibly the loudest
member of the squad, particularly off the field. Can occupy a number of positions
across the back line and in midfield and performs well in them all. A Welfare
man through and through.
Mario Radavanovic: Another veteran performer
who can produce the goods. Maz brings to the club the experiance of many years
playing at a higher standard of football. A class performer in a number of positions
when on song.
Simon Roberts: He's the engine of the
side. A non stop performer who excels every week. Great ability going forward
and equally as good having to defend. Always weighs in with a fair amount of
goals.
Ian Wright: Tough tackling midfielder
who'll compete from the 1st whistle to the last. Excellent in the air and always
a threat going forward and from set pieces.
Kyle Bates: A very good young footballer
who can occupy numerous positions. Has impressed many observers in his short
time with the club. Will no doubt get better.
James Irwin: Has returned to Askern after
a year away. A attacking player who has bags of pace and loves running at people.
Always lets the oposition know he's around and isn't afraid of a tackle.
Andrew O'Grady: Hasn't quite made the
leap to 1st team regular yet, but has the potential to put that right sooner
rather than later. A very pacey midfielder who will continue to improve in the
years to come.
Andrew Broad: A strong running midfielder
with a good engine. Always works hard and has consisently performned to a high
standard since arriving at the club.
Matthew Shaw: A good utility player who
can play almost anywhere on the park. A strong phyical player who possesses
great close control. Still young so should get better.
Dean Humble: A youngster in his 1st year
of Senior football. Has shown a lot of promise so far and could prove to be
a addition to the squad.
Steven Parker: Steve has been the clubs
main goal scoring threat foir the last few years. A quality centre forward or
winger who has great pace and the ability to beat defenders with ease.
Wayne Parnell: A very impressive winger
who possesses a cultured left foot. Very quick over the ground and is at his
best when running at defenders. A good finisher.
Dale Wassell: A very promising young
striker whose hard working displays have already made him a 1st team regular.
He has bags of ability and will no doubt go on to fulfil his enormous potential.
Kristian Robson: One of the most gifted
footballers to pull on a Askern shirt in recent years. Extremely skillful and
great when running at defenders, but Trigger still hasn't managed to fulfil
his potential as of yet.
