History
Pelican FC were formed in 1984 and started life in the Notts Amateur
League. They spent 4 years in the Amateur League winning titles and
cups and broke many records along the way. They were accepted in to
the Notts Alliance Division 2 in 1988 and finished runners up in their
first season. The following season they won Division 1 but were denied
promotion because of ground grading. The following season they acquired
their present ground. They won Division 1 again and gained promotion
to the Senior Division where they remained until 2002. They won the
Senior Division title twice, first time in 1995 and again in 2002. They
have also won the Notts Junior & Intermediate Cups and were Senior
Finalists in 1998 losing 2-0 to Hucknall Town.
in 2002/03, Pelican FC joined the Central Midlands League and straight
away showed their capabilities by winning the Premier Division. the
reserves also won the Reserve Division 1 and the Notts Intermediate
Cup.
Last season in Pelican's first season in the Supreme Division, they
finished 5th and reached the semi-final of the League Cup. The Reserves
