Club History

Founded in 1964 as Manlove & Alliots FC and played in the nottinghamshire Sunday league. mandove & Alliots were a Engineering firm situated in Radford. After the firm transfered to Scotland in 170/71, the club carried on under the name of Radford Olympic FC.

In 1977 we became the first amateur side in Britain to be allowed to wear advertising on our shirts and the BBC Television came along to our home ground on Melbourne Park and filmed one og our matches and interviewed officials for the evening programme "Nationwide".

In 1978 we formed a ground developement committee and decided to seek out a piece of ground preferably in the radford area for developement of our own ground.

Radford Olympic transferred to Saturday Football and made progress up the leagues and in 1982/83 finished Champions of the East Midlands Regional League.

In 1983/84, we won the Central Midlands League Senior Cup.

in 2002/03 we were promoted to the Supreme Division of the Central Midlands League and in our first season in the top flight we finished 11th.

Club Pen Pics

Rob Wild :- 21 – Goal Keeper, 2nd season with Radford F.C. Previous clubs - Long Eaton, Nottingham Forest, Kettering Town and Ossett Albion. Interesting fact – The circumference of my head is the same length as my forearm.
Managers View :- Rob is a good keeper and enthusiasm is top draw. “Needs to get out more.”

Dave Ward :- 20 – Right Back, - 1st season with the club. Previous clubs:- Siemans F.C. Hobbies :- Likes to talk to Pete Kelly. (Assistant manager,)
Managers View :- Another new young lad, great future if he wants it.

Matt Wheat :- 25 –Full Back, Wing, anywhere, - 1st season at Radford. Previous clubs:- Bestwood F.C., Sandiacre Town, Dunkirk F.C., Boots Athletic and AC Bulwell F.C. Interesting fact:- Had 3 broken legs! Live round the corner from the ground but still drive to the games. I’m probably the most unfit player in the club but working at it. Advise to team mates, “ Don’t give the ball away and they can’t score.”
Managers View: Matt is new to the club and carries his weight well. A good footballer and will play anywhere. Another good lad.

Duncan Osborne:- 21 – Left Wing / Wingback / Back, - 3rd season with the club, Previous clubs: Arnold Town and Notts County F.C. Suffered a broken leg last November which kept him out for most of the season. Gets up and down the pitch very well, good defensive qualities and one of the best crossers in the club.
Managers View: “Shy Dunc.” “Sweet left peg.” Has sometimes got to push himself harder to get in the game.

Matt Hallam:- 18 – Centre Half, - 1st season at Radford F.C. Previous clubs: Long Eaton United. Fact: I’m a tax dodging student at Sheffield.
Managers View: Matt is a compact centre back for his young age. He has fitted in well with the rest of the lads.

Jason Thomas:- 23 – Defender / Midfield, - 7yrs a Radford player. Previous clubs:
Radford F.C. quote “Radford Till I Die.” Interesting fact:- “I like dressing up as Superman at night and thinking I’m a super hero.” “I’m ‘T’ total.” (He also tells lies.)
Managers View: Jason “well” one of the three Amigos. Has a solid presents, gives his all for the club.

Dean Seymoor:- 21 – Full Back / Centre Back, - 1st year at the club. Previous clubs:- Notts Police F.C. and Basford United. Interesting fact:- “Love getting bladdered.” (After games I hope.)
Managers View: Dean joined from Basford United. Still to play regular football for the first team but will settle in with time. A good mixer.

Tim Taylor:- 21 – Midfield / Attacker, - 3rd season at Radford. Previous clubs:- Arnold Town and Rose F.C. Facts: I like drinking and love getting injured. (In that order.)
Managers View: Tim is quality through and through. Out injured since last year. Has been missed. Another good lad. “Needs more training.”

Paul Fletcher:- 38 – Midfield / Forward, - 2nd year at Radford. Previous clubs:- Kimberly Town, Boots Athletic, etc. Interesting fact: Always first to the bar. (Not always first to pay.)
Managers View: Paul is granddad to the to the rest of the squad. His legs are slowly going but still has quality.

Rob Wooldridge:- 22 – Right Midfield – 3rd year with the club. Previous clubs:- Sandiacre Town & Kimberly Town. Hobbies :- “Making Babies”
Managers View: Rob is a quite lad, good quality player, hurts defences with his pace.
Needs more beer!

Grant Bailey:- 20 – Striker – 1st year with Radford. Previous club :- Siemans F.C.
Interesting fact: I drive a funny coloured car. “Lilac.”
Managers View: New young player has a great future. Doesn’t drink at the moment.
“We’ll teach him.”

Dean Taylor:- 28 – Striker / Midfield. – 3rd season at the club. Previous clubs :- Roll Royce Leisure, Dunkirk F.C & Sandiacre Town.
Managers View: Skipper of the club. Great bloke. Need to play him back up front.
This is Dean. Wrights his own managers views. “The last of the Tree Amigos.” Good lad, solid player.

Lee Taylor – 26- Right Midfield – 7 years at the club. No previous clubs. Fact:- Hate watching Match Of the day drunk.
Managers View:-Lee another of the “Three Amigos.” Plays down the right what he lacks in height he gives in effort and quality.

Mike Sullivan :- 23 – Centre Back – First season at Radford F.C.
Managers View:- Mike’s a very hard working and honest defender as he is a person. ( Not bad for a lawyer.)

Patrick Samba :- 20 – Striker – 1st season with the club. Recent signing. Previous clubs:- Wollaton F.C.
Managers View:- Patrick has come highly recommended. He will need time to settle and take his chance.

Julian Garmston:- 44 – Manager.3rd season in charge. Previous clubs:- Sutton Town, Burton Albion, Ilkeston Town & Kimberly Town.Interesting fact: Still trying to find a way not to get a hangover without drinking!
Would love just to play again.
Managers View:- Like any one else I want to win but at the end of the season you look back at the good times. A good set of lads on and off the pitch.
