Club History
After a long history of football at Carnarvon Street dating back to the 1920's, under the name of Teversal Miners Welfare, the football side of the complex became run down. It was only down to the hard work of Sam Slack that football continued, under the banner of youth football.

Senior football was formed again in 1986 under the name of M.W. Teversal. The closure of Teversal Colliery, then the closure of the Miners Welfare in 1989 followed by the closure of Silverhill Colliery saw a steady decline.

This lead to a period of uncertainty, but Ashfield District Council took over the Trusteeship of the complex in 1989, with the name changing to the Teversal Grange Sports and Social Centre, hence the name change to Teversal Grange F.C.

The name was changed again at the start of the 2000-2001 season to our current name of Teversal F.C, due to us being associated to the adjacent Country Inn, which is not the case.

From the uncertain times, which saw the club running just one Senior team, the club's strength has grown to have two Senior teams and two Colts team for the current season.

The aim of the club is to develop the people and the facilities for the benefit of high quality football to be played for the locals by the locals.

-------------------------------------------------------

"THE CLUBS OBJECTIVES ARE AS FOLLOWS"

GENERAL : To develop the people and facilities within the club by raising adequate funds within the club, and accessing support from sponsorship and outside bodies for grant aid funding.

SENIORS : To establish a successful playing team by continuing to develop the skills and knowledge of its players to allow progression up the Football Pyramid. To identify the requirements on and off the pitch to progress up the Northern Pyramid structure.

COLTS : To develop the individual players of the local community in areas of technical ability and understanding of the laws of association football whilst developing all areas of their social skills.

The ultimate aim is to see all of the players progressing into professional football, if they don't reach those heights, then they stay with Teversal Football Club.

THE TEVERSAL FC CREST

The badge is a symbol of the past and present dreams of a local football club, which was resurrected, in a dying mining community. Its dreams are to bring to the community a football club to be proud of and for all members of the community to be part of. This crest is the symbol to hold those dreams and are the things that will help and support those working to fulfill those dreams. Each item on the badge has it's own meaning and purpose.
THE HEADSTOCKS : The history of the mining community that was the start of the club, in all it's past names of Teversal Colliery, Teversal & Silverhill Miners Welfare, Teversal Miners Welfare, M.W. Teversal and Teversal Grange and that those days are remembered.

THE THREE LIONS : These have a dual meaning, the first and least significant is that they symbolize the fact that we are members of the English Football Community. But the most important thing they represent is; The top lion represents you, your self respect, pride and passion to the club and your team and team mates. The middle lion represents the dreams, hopes and aspirations of the club. The third lion is the imagination, strength and pride you need to achieve to meet all our dreams.
